Our first stop will be the most important capital of the Mayan world, Chichen Itza, with its incredible architecture and culture. We will visit the Pyramid of Kukulkan, proclaimed as one of the seven wonders of the modern world. As well as the Temple of the Thousand Columns, a remarkable heritage of the Itzaes and the Observatory.
They will start the day visiting one of the most impressive ceremonial centers in the Yucatan peninsula, Ek Balam (“Black or Dark Jaguar”). You will be thrilled to witness the incredible decoration of its temples and squares. Admire the two impressive high-relief sculptures that have astonished archaeologists and researchers as they turn out to be unique, along with the newly restored Jaguar Mouth found on the façade of the main temple. The structures have various architectural styles, but there are details that make them unique, such as images with wings that resemble angels.
On this site, the enormous dimensions of its buildings are particularly striking; likewise, the fact that its central part is surrounded by two walls, which is rare.
